Counseling at PULS*
When a young person identifies as lesbian, gay, trans*, or queer, it’s common for family members to have questions about coming out, identity development, or transition. Queer lives may be new to you, but your desire to offer support is what matters most.
We offer you professional, open-minded, and personalized counseling and information.
Our website provides comprehensive information about the PULS* youth center, current programs, and ongoing activities. You can also contact our professional staff directly via phone or email.

Family Support Group at PULS*
A young person’s sexual orientation or gender identity can raise many questions, uncertainties, and emotions for their loved ones. Our family group provides a safe space to exchange experiences, ask questions, and find support.
We invite all parents, guardians, and other important caregivers of queer children and youth who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, non-binary, queer, or in any way outside of the cis-heteronormative spectrum. Whether you’ve just recently learned about your child’s coming out or have been on this journey for a while. You are warmly welcome.
The group meets once every quarter on Sundays from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at our PULS* youth center. In a welcoming and respectful atmosphere, you’ll have the opportunity to:
connect with other family members
ask questions and talk about uncertainties
receive information about gender identity and sexual orientation
talk to professional staff about your experiences and concerns
The group is led by the core team of the PULS* youth center:
Lisa Counter – management
Franziska Ihle – Focus: Girls* work
Tom Wohlgemuth – Focus: Trans* youth work
Upcoming Family Group Dates – 2025:
Sunday, October 26, 2025, 12:00–2:00 PM
